An Inspiring Introduction

An intimate outline of Dorothy R. Mumma’s life is detailed in the Introduction section at the very beginning of this book, along with precious photos of Dorothy and her family.

The Hidden Poems

Dorothy wrote her poems throughout her life until her death at age 84 in 1999. She shared some with family while alive, but after her death, other beautiful poems were discovered on scraps of paper hidden in her home and even tucked safely under her bed.

The Canvas of Faith

Dorothy’s Christian faith sustained her throughout her lifetime’s challenges. She believed in being kind and sharing God and Jesus’ message to love one another. She painted her artwork in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Some paintings were framed on her walls, while others were discovered as hidden treasures in a box under her bed.

Quote:

A single leaf that was left on a tree was put there by God for you and me. To see and admire—and know that He was giving us beauty to hold in our hearts and keep in our minds. When all we might have are memories of the beauty in life, we can always hold and think of each memory, that is worth more than gold.
